Hello, book lovers!
I’m delighted you’ve chosen Saving Vincent, A Novel of Jo van Gogh to read!
This book tells the little-known true story of the woman who saved Vincent van Gogh’s artwork from being lost forever, Jo van Gogh.
Jo was married to Vincent’s brother, Theo who was an art dealer. Very few people think to ask how Vincent became famous. Those that do assume it was his brother who helped him. The truth is that when both brothers died Vincent was known only among fellow artists. It would be Jo—a young widow and single mother to an infant son—who would choose to champion him and refuse to allow Vincent’s talent to be lost. Without Jo, we wouldn’t have Vincent today.
Her story is a tale of resilience, setback, disappointment, but ultimately – well you know – success! Thank you for choosing it!
I look forward to joining you either in person or via Zoom. Reserve your date with me today.
